President Gabriel Boric arrived this Friday morning in the commune of Villa Alemana, in the Valparaíso region, following two weeks of the forest and structural fires that hit the region. From there, he gave an account of the progress following the flames.

In Villa Alemana itself, 100% of the rubble has been removed. Added to this was the erection of the first transitional homes given to 12 families. “Each of the families that were affected by these fires is equally important. And here the commune, the neighborhood, the socioeconomic condition they had before does not matter; Here the victims are victims and in that pain, we are all equal, and therefore, we have the duty, as a State, to respond to them and be present,” said the President.

“No one will be left without a temporary solution until they can have their permanent home, regardless of whether they are owners, tenants, relatives or families in camp. As a State we have the duty and the will to reach out to everyone affected,” he later stated.

During the night of Thursday, the President flew over that part of the country in a helicopter with an infrared camera, which made it possible to monitor the curfew and fire outbreaks, among other things.
