The ongoing first test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka has been stopped due to rain, Sri Lanka has scored 222 runs for the loss of five wickets.
Sri Lanka started the second day’s play with the loss of five wickets and 202 runs and had just scored 20 runs when it started raining due to which the match was stopped and the pitch was covered. It is worth noting that last day also the match was ended a little before its time due to low light.
In the match being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first, which proved to be correct until the initial session and the Sri Lankan openers performed better.
Demonstratingly provided a 96-run opening. For Sri Lanka, Dimuth Karunaratne scored 59 runs while Oshada Fernando scored 40 runs, Kaushal Mendes scored 10 runs, Dinesh Chandimala scored 2 runs and Angelo Mathews scored 14 runs while Dhananjaya De Silva and Niroshan Dakvila are at the crease.
After the failure in the beginning of the game, Pakistani fast bowlers have shown the way to the pavilion for four players while returning to the game.
On behalf of the national team, Naseem Shah guided two players to the pavilion, while Muhammad Abbas, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Usman Khan Shinwari took one wicket each.
It should be noted that Azhar Ali is leading the national team for the match while other players include Shan Masood, Abid Ali, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail, Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Rizwan, Usman Shinwari, Mohammad Abbas, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi.
