The first response from the Football Association after Mortada Mansour’s threats

Walid Al-Attar, Executive Director of the Egyptian Football Association, revealed the federation’s position on completing or canceling the Egyptian Cup in its old version.

Walid Al-Attar said in statements on Radio On Sport: At times, there are jurisprudence, and some may announce official decisions and attribute them to the Football Association, which are incorrect.

He added: Until this moment, there is no final decision regarding the old Egypt Cup, and all scenarios are being studied, and we will decide what is best for Egyptian football.

He continued: There are many questions, the Football Association is studying all these questions, but the completion of the tournament is one of the scenarios presented.

Walid Al-Attar concluded his speech: “We are trying to find an appropriate timing to complete the remaining matches, and we are studying, in the event of not finding a suitable timing, what are the terms of the contracts, and what are the consequences of canceling the tournament, all of these matters are studied before making the final decision.”

It is noteworthy that the Egyptian Football Association held a drawing ceremony for the 32nd round of the Egyptian Cup for the current season, on Saturday.

Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek club, had come out in televised statements yesterday evening, Sunday, during which he announced his refusal to participate in the Egypt Cup competitions in its new version, until the completion of the old version.
