The first public statement by the CIA director after the leak of classified documents in America

Atlanta, USA (CNN) – CIA Director Bill Burns, in his first public remarks since the leak of classified military documents, acknowledged that the issue was as urgent a problem for the United States as “as severe as anything else” at the moment.

Burns stressed the importance of balancing short-term and long-term issues, and pointed to the leak as an urgent problem that US intelligence agencies are dealing with.

The CIA director noted that the Justice Department is currently investigating the leak and declined to go into more detail regarding his understanding of the case.
