The UFC is back! Already five rounds before the end of the season, Eferding was no longer able to take away the championship title in the North District League. This means that the Hausruckviertel team is the first to be promoted to the regional league. “We were not only the team with the best quality, but also the most consistent team,” cheered Eferding coach Christoph Hiesl.
Two years ago the club – which has fallen from the Upper Austrian league to the first division in recent seasons – was promoted to the district league. Last season, Eferding missed out on promotion behind Katsdorf by just two points. Hiesl: “We made up for that this year. We laid the foundation in the fall with twelve wins in 13 games.”
He also has a lot of confidence in the UFC kickers one floor higher up: “The team has developed a real winning mentality in recent years and will not lose it in the national league.” However, Hiesl will no longer be there: The former coach from Traun or Bad Leonfelden is taking a career break: “I have to recharge my batteries first.”
Scary Title Runs
The title fight in two other district leagues is really exciting. There was a change in leadership in the south at the weekend: Neuhofen moved past Gunskirchen (1-1 once morest Ohlsdorf) with a last-minute win once morest Schlierbach and is now one point ahead. Goal scorer Michael Reifeltshammer shot the Innviertel team into the lead with his 28th goal of the season in the 93rd minute. In the East too, leader Garsten is one point ahead of his pursuer Hörsching. In the West District League, SPG Utzenaich/Antiesenhofen leads Lambrechten by three points.
