After several months of negotiation and preparations, finally the new presidential plane is almost ready to be delivered in Argentina, something that might happen in the next few days following the painting work being carried out in the United States is finished.

As can be seen in a series of photos that Infobae accessed, The Boeing 757-256 purchased by the Government for a total value close to USD 25 million is already practically conditioned, since it paid 21,730,000 for it dollars and gave the seller the old Tango 01, valued at almost 3 million of the same US currency

The new presidential aircraft will be called ARG 01 and is regarding to arrive in Argentina. Photo Infobae.

The aircraft is already completely painted with the national colors: throughout its entire fuselage they mix light blue and white, with some details in gold and the classic sun of the Argentine flag, drawn on the rudder and at the bottom, between the wheels.

In addition, the name written on the tail drew attention, which clearly indicates ARG 01, the new name that the presidential plane will have from now on and that it will use since it lands at the Jorge Newbery airport to be handed over to the national authorities.

The aircraft is still being painted in the United States.

The old name, Tango 01, comes from the time when official planes were flown by the Air Force. Taking advantage of the aircraft change, it was decided to rename the entire fleet. For airplanes, they have already been reserved from ARG 01 to ARG 09. And in helicopters it will be from 10 to 20.

According to what Infobae published, the vehicle was scheduled to arrive in Buenos Aires this Tuesday, although it is believed that the shipment might be delayed a while longer due to the fact that the last remodeling works have not yet been completed.

The new Boeing 757-256 has capacity for 39 passengers, a master bedroom with all the comforts, and two other guest bedrooms that can be adapted as meeting rooms. Unlike the Tango 01, it can fly non-stop to Europe or the United States.

The aircraft was born as a passenger plane in 2000, it was modified to a VIP configuration in 2004, and it had a remodeling in 2012. Its last owner, an Israeli millionaireYes, he had given it to his ex-wife in the property division and it hadn’t been used for a long time.

From a technical point of view, the experts from the Presidency assure that it is an airplane manufactured in 2000 (the Tango 01 is from 1992), that it has winglets (fins that are located at the tip of the wing and reduce fuel consumption), and that it has a more modern lighting and humidification system than required.

The plane will have painted the classic sun of the Argentine flag, drawn on the rudder and in the lower part, between the wheels. Photo Infobae.

«It is an aircraft with excellent operational qualities due to its high speed, service ceiling, autonomy, power, medium fuselage, which allows a correct distribution of the rooms necessary for the presidential transfer. By having high landing gear and great propulsion power, it has the flexibility to operate in most airports in the country as well as abroad. To this must be added that the technical personnel who perform aeronautical maintenance in the Presidency of the Nation have more than 25 years of experience in this aircraft model.«, details a technical report prepared by the Government.

With the painting process underway, a delegation led by the Director of Logistics for the Presidency, Leonardo Barone, left last week for Kansas to bring the plane to Argentina. He was accompanied by Juan Pablo Pinto (Operations Manager), Fabio Lamas (Planning and Maintenance Director) and Paula Cortesi (Project Manager).
