‘Yusuf Khan Sherbanu’ was the first Pashto language film, but some 29 years before its release, another Pashto film ‘Laila Majnanu’ was released in Bombay in 1941. The filmmaker, director, storyteller and poet of Laila Majnu was Baba Amir Hamza Shinwari while the music of the film was composed by Rafiq Ghaznavi.
