NEO MOTORS, the first automobile manufacturer with Moroccan capital, organized today, at its head office in Ain Aouda, in the presence of Ryad MEZZOUR, Minister of Industry and Commerce, the symbolic handover ceremony of the first NEO vehicles to their owners. This historic step for the Moroccan automotive industry and for Neo Motors officially marks the launch of the marketing of NEO vehicles to the general public.
HM King Mohammed VI chaired, on May 15, 2023 at the Royal Palace in Rabat, the presentation ceremony of the car model from the first Moroccan manufacturer Neo, an innovative project which would strengthen the promotion of the “Made In Morocco” Label and to consolidate the Kingdom’s position as a competitive platform for automobile production.
“We proudly celebrate the delivery of the first vehicles from the Moroccan brand Neo. This project is in line with the Royal Directives aimed at directing the private sector towards productive investments, particularly in cutting-edge sectors, and to stimulate the emergence of a new generation of businesses in Morocco. This also demonstrates the confidence we have in Moroccan skills and our desire to support them to make them models of success,” declared Ryad Mezzour on this occasion.
As a reminder, the Moroccan State and NEO MOTORS concluded, in September 2019, an investment agreement for the design and manufacturing of the 1st Moroccan consumer vehicle brand.
For his part, Nassim Belkhayat, CEO NEO MOTORS, declared that “this project belongs to all of us. It comes in response to Her Majesty’s Royal Vision on industrial sovereignty which encourages young entrepreneurs to take risks. This is a first step. I am proud to contribute to strengthening the “Made in Morocco” label and to be part of this beautiful, competitive Moroccan automotive platform.
This event was also marked by the signing between NEO MOTORS, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the OFPPT of an agreement aimed at supporting the evolution and development of skills of the company through the preparation and training of qualified human resources in line with the needs expressed.
In addition, agreements have been signed with key partners offering significant advantages likely to encourage the mobility of young entrepreneurs who want to purchase the Neo. Thus, CREDIT AGRICOLE DU MAROC (CAM) and the financing organizations SOFAC, MAGHREBAIL and MAROC LEASING offer preferential conditions to young entrepreneurs. The agreement concluded with SPEEDY MAROC makes it possible to offer local maintenance services that comply with the manufacturer’s standards.
During this event, NEO MOTORS inaugurated the launch of extension work at its factory, revealing new ambitions aimed at increasing its installed capacity and developing new ranges of vehicles.
