The first meeting of the CIS Economic Council was held under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic

Under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev, the first meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on topical issues of economic cooperation between the CIS member states.

“The chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic in the bodies of the organization will be carried out within the framework of the implementation of the Concept for the Further Development of the Commonwealth of Independent States, adopted by the Council of Heads of State on December 18, 2020. We will follow the main principles laid down to develop and strengthen relations of friendship, good neighborliness, interethnic harmony, trust, mutual understanding and mutually beneficial cooperation between the participating states,” said Adylbek Kasymaliev.

As a result of the meeting of the Council, the following decisions were signed:

• On the draft Agreement on the interaction of the CIS member states in the exchange of monitoring data on the radiation situation;

• On the activities of the Interstate Council “Radionavigation” in 2018–2021;

• On the draft Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement on the Rules for Determining the Country of Origin of Goods in the Commonwealth of Independent States of November 20, 2009;

• On the implementation of the Perspective Plan for Joint Work on Exploration, Use and Protection of the Subsoil of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2021–2025;

• On the draft Action Plan for the implementation of the Agreement on cooperation between the CIS member states in the field of waste management of electronic and electrical equipment dated June 1, 2018 for the period up to 2030;

• On granting the status of a center for the commercialization of innovations of the member states of the Interstate Program for Innovative Cooperation of the CIS member states for the period up to 2030;

• On the basic organization of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of training specialists for the creative industries, hospitality and congress and exhibition activities;

• On the preparation and conduct of the 2020 round of population censuses in the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States;

• On amendments to the Decision of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS dated November 19, 2010 on the main target macroeconomic indicators for the development of the economies of the CIS member states;

• On the results of a documentary audit on the spending by the Committee on the Affairs of Internationalist Warriors under the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth Member States of the share contributions of the CIS member states for financing in 2020–2022 of measures to continue in 2020–2024 the search for military personnel who went missing during the period the war in Afghanistan in 1979-1989, the search for burial sites, exhumation, identification of the remains and their reburial in their homeland;

Also during the meeting, information was presented “On the Main Directions of Cooperation between the CIS Member States in Forming the Public Acceptability of Nuclear Energy” and “On the Activities of Innovation Commercialization Centers of the States Members of the Interstate Program for Innovative Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the period up to 2030”.
