The schedule of the second ODI match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was changed due to the poor condition of the outfield of the National Stadium after heavy rain in Karachi.
The first match of the three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was to be played today (Friday) at the National Stadium in Karachi, but the match was not possible due to the accumulation of water in the field after heavy rain.
The match referee announced the cancellation of the match in consultation with the captains of both teams.
After the rain, the pitch of the National Stadium has been covered and made safe, but the field is full of water and the condition of the outfield is very bad.
In view of the poor condition of the ground, the Pakistan and Sri Lankan Cricket Boards changed the schedule of the match and postponed it by a day to give the ground staff time to prepare the ground and make the outfield playable.
The ground staff needed at least two days to make the ground fit for play, so the ODI on Sunday will now be played on Monday, September 30.
PCB Director International Cricket Zakir Khan said, “The rain has forced us to change the schedule of the series. We are grateful to the Sri Lankan Cricket Board as well as our broadcasters for agreeing to the changed schedule.”
The PCB announced that tickets purchased for Friday’s match can be used for the match on September 30 or October 2, while fans purchased tickets for the September 29 match can also be used for the match on September 30 or October 2. I can use
According to PCB’s policy, those who have bought tickets for Sunday’s match and cannot watch the match on Monday will be given a full refund.

**Interview with Cricket Analyst, Sarah Khan, on the Rescheduling of Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka ODI Match**
**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Sarah. The second ODI match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka had to be rescheduled due to poor outfield conditions at the National Stadium in Karachi. Can you tell us how significant weather conditions are in influencing match schedules?
**Sarah Khan:** Thank you for having me. Weather conditions play a crucial role in cricket. Rain can not only affect the players’ ability to perform but also endanger the integrity of the pitch and outfield. Teams need a safe playing environment, and when the outfield is waterlogged, it’s simply not feasible to hold a match. This is exactly what we are seeing with the situation in Karachi.
**Interviewer:** Absolutely. It’s a significant concern for players and fans alike. How does the rescheduling of matches impact team preparations and player morale?
**Sarah Khan:** Rescheduling can be a double-edged sword. On one hand, teams get extra time to analyze their performance and strategize, which can be beneficial. On the other hand, it can lead to disruption of their rhythm and momentum. Players might feel some frustration, especially if they were mentally and physically prepared for the match.
**Interviewer:** What do you think this means for the series moving forward?
**Sarah Khan:** It puts added pressure on both teams. With the first match now delayed, building momentum can be tricky. Both teams will want to hit the ground running. They’ll need to adapt quickly, especially if the weather continues to be unpredictable. That said, it’s an opportunity for both sides to refocus and come out stronger.
**Interviewer:** Great insights, Sarah. Do you have any predictions on how the remaining matches in this series might unfold with all these changes?
**Sarah Khan:** It’s hard to say definitively with so many variables at play, but I expect both teams to be cautious initially, especially if conditions remain marginal. However, once they find their footing, it could lead to some thrilling cricket. Let’s hope for clear skies ahead!
**Interviewer:** Thank you for your time, Sarah. We appreciate your expert take on this unfolding situation.
**Sarah Khan:** Thank you! Always a pleasure to discuss cricket.
