Keir Starmer, the new Prime Minister of Great Britain, has made the first major decision since taking office. They have scrapped plans to deport illegal immigrants from Rwanda.
The previous government’s plan to deport illegal immigrants from Rwanda. Several thousand people were to be evacuated in various stages under this plan. A plan was prepared to transport them to different places in Africa. This plan was to be implemented from July 12.
The project was developed in 2022. Its main purpose was to prevent people from coming to the UK illegally. Keir Starmer says that the number of people planned to be sent to Rwanda is not even one percent of the total number of people seeking political asylum.
Former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak faced severe criticism for the plan to deport Rwandan immigrants. Critics said that they themselves are the children of immigrants, so they should adopt a reasonable and moderate attitude towards immigrants.
