The first Guardians of the Galaxy vol.3 trailer just dropped

This first trailer fell the day following the Disney Content ACAP rumors, and on the occasion of the Brazilian Comic-Con.

The final episode of the trilogy Guardians of the Galaxy has finally just shown itself in pictures. Aware of the expectations, James Gunn had declared that the third episodes of the trilogies are often the worst, a pitfall that he wants to avoid at all costs for his last collaboration with Marvel studios. The video confirms the rumors from the recent Disney Content, since we can see Gamora back, a version from another dimension who has no memory of his fellow adventurers. We can also discover the character of Adam Warlock, played by Will Poulter (The labyrinth, Midsummer). And the tone of this first trailer is sadder than usual.

Nostalgia and new deal

In addition to the pain of Peter Quill felt following the death of the Gamora dear to his heart, we will also discover the origins of Rocket, which seem as dark as they are moving. James Gunn had promised a more touching finale than usual, and the stakes presented here seem to support his words. The recent Christmas special Guardians of the Galaxy had previously revealed a depressed Star Lord, but whose spirits had been lifted by the announcement of Mantis, declaring him to be his half-sister. This relationship might also lead to changes within the small band of space adventurers.

Awesome Mix Vol.3

On the side of the soundtrack, always essential in the saga, the director seems to have opted for titles a little more contemporary than usual. The trailer is indeed accompanied by the song In the meantime, from the group Spacehog, which dates back to 1994. The playlists, always named “Awesome Mix” in the previous films, should therefore have a third volume more centered on the 1980s and 1990s, with probably more melancholic tracks than usual, to better accompany the twilight atmosphere of this long-awaited grand finale. The output of Guardians of the Galaxy vol.3 is scheduled with us for May 3, 2023.
