Maserati (MSG Racing) has revealed the third generation of the Maserati Tipo Folguri, the first fully electric Maserati car, which will compete in the ninth season of the ABB Formula E World Championship. The car was launched on the streets of Modena, the home of Maserati, the first Italian car brand to participate in the Formula E championship, allowing the public to experience the exciting racing atmosphere. The third-generation Tipo Folguri features a blue livery inspired by the Maserati crest, as well as performance levels, high efficiency and pioneering technologies that make the car a platform for bringing racing innovations to the road.
The Tipo 26 is the first car bearing the Maserati logo to participate in the Targa Florio race in 1926, and to win first place in its class, driven by Alfieri Maserati. The Maserati Tipo Folguri returns following 96 years, ushering in the era of electric cars and reinforcing Maserati’s ability to deliver on its commitment to present a new range of fully electric Folguri cars.
The exterior was designed to give the car a modern and authentic feel, as the Maserati logo appears at the front of the car, along with the Maserati Corse logo, which includes the colors of the Italian flag, on both sides of the fender.
