Ferrari will release the first all-electric car at the end of 2025
Italian supercar maker Ferrari, known for its powerful and loud engines, is gearing up for the electric revolution.
When announcing its first all-electric car, scheduled for release in 2025, the company promised it would sound as exciting as its gas-powered predecessors.
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said the company’s future electric cars will emulate the iconic roar of internal combustion engines. Engineers are working to create unique “sound signatures” that emulate the characteristic roar that has been a hallmark of Ferrari cars for over 75 years.
To achieve this, Ferrari is developing new technologies that create an artificial engine sound. These sound signatures will modulate depending on vehicle speed, driving mode and other parameters.
Ferrari Chief Technology Officer Ambrogio Perfetti explained that sound plays an important role in the emotional experience of driving a car, and they want it to continue in electric cars.
Despite the transition to electric technology, Ferrari strives to remain true to its sporting DNA and provide its customers with an exciting driving experience.
In addition, Ferrari is investing in production capacity for the production of electric vehicles. A new plant dedicated to the production of electric motors, battery packs and power inverters will open in June 2023 in Maranello, Italy. By 2026, around 60% of Ferrari’s sales are expected to come from pure electric and hybrid vehicles.
