The First Edition of Cinegreen is Underway: The Magic of Cinema at the Service of Sustainability

The Milan Green Week has always been one of the most anticipated events for all those who are passionate about sustainability and environmentally friendly. This year, among the various events that will enliven the city, an event is born that promises to capture particular attention: Cinegreenscheduled for September 26 and 27 at the Notorious Cinemas Gloria of Corso Vercelli – Milan, two days of meetings and screenings that combine the charm of cinema with the commitment of companies towards a more sustainable future.

Cinegreen is not only an event that celebrates sustainability through the big screen, but it is also an example of how it is possible to organize events with a low environmental impact: thanks to the partnership with ClimatePartner, the event will be Carbon Neutral: all carbon emissions generated during the event will therefore be offset through investment in a climate project. This commitment reflects the seriousness with which the organizers address environmental issues and demonstrates that even large events can be organized with a lower ecological impact. The two days will offer both moments of in-depth study to involve and inspire institutional guests and the public and opportunities for fun with the Previews on the big screen.

It starts on September 26 with an exclusive interview with Giovanna Iannantuoni, Rector of the University of Milan-Bicocca and president of the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities. The in-depth analysis, conducted by Pierluigi Sassi, President of Earth Day Italia, economic and environmental journalist for the Osservatore Romano and recognized expert in the field of sustainability, will address the role of young people within the great global challenges in light of the findings of the Summit on the Future in New York. After the interview, the conduction will be enriched by Claudia Segre, a leading figure in the field of finance and founder of the Global Thinking Foundation, for a talk that, together with illustrious exponents of the world of institutions, economics and the third sector, will explore the need for a new alliance between the components of society to address the issues posed at all levels by the ecological and digital transition, by the need to change the economic and productive system, to educational challenges, to the issue of social and gender inequalities.

The first day’s program ends at 8:00 pm with the preview of the animated film The Wild Robotdirected by Chris Sanders and distributed by Universal Pictures International Italycoming out in theaters on October 10. The film tells the adventures of Roz, a robot who, after a shipwreck, finds herself on an uninhabited island where she must learn to adapt to the hostile environment around her, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island, and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned goose. Roz’s story is a metaphor for adaptation and resilience, and the film promises to be not only entertaining but also educational, highlighting the theme of sustainability in a family context.

Another event awaits the public on September 27: at 8:00 pm the documentary film Libere… di VIVERE written and directed by Antonio Silvestre and produced by Mario Tani for MAC FILM will be screened: it was born from an idea by Claudia Segre to spread knowledge of gender-based economic violence, its devastating consequences, through real testimonies of women who are victims of this type of abuse. The screening will be preceded by an Argentine tango performance by Sophie Sperling & Francis Aguilar and will be introduced by Claudia Segre and other illustrious guests including the director Antonio Silvestre, the lawyer Elisabetta Aldrovandi and the actress and testimonial Giulia Cappelletti.

For both days, admission is free until all available places are filled, upon registration on the website https://tec-com.it/cinegreen-iscrizione. Cinegreen is made possible thanks to the collaboration between Technology & Communication and Echo, two leading companies in the sustainable communication scene in Italy. Partners of the event are also Notorious Cinemas (which confirms its green commitment as a Cinema Circuit and the Group to which it belongs) and ClimatePartner. Media partner is the Easy4green portal www.easy4green.itcommunication project by Massimiliano Langs.
