The first comment from the Medical Syndicate regarding the assault on Abu K’s doctor

The Egyptian Medical Syndicate said that it followed up the incident of the attack on a female doctor while she was performing her work at Abu Kabir Central Hospital in Sharkia Governorate last Monday morning.

Dr. Iman Salama, a member of the Council of the General Syndicate of Physicians, contacted Dr. Aya Shaaban Al-Osaili on the same day of the attack and heard from her the details of the incident. The doctor confirmed that the family of one of the injured had physically and verbally assaulted her and caused her injuries, while performing her work at Abu Kabir Central Hospital in Sharkia Governorate.

The doctor, Aya Al-Osaili, indicated that the hospital’s agent, Dr. Khaled Samir, as soon as he learned of the incident, directed him to inform the Ministry of Health and the police.

Dr. Ahmed Hussein, a member of the Doctors Syndicate Council, said that the assaulted doctor filed a complaint with the syndicate on the same day of the incident and asked for its support. The doctor informed the syndicate of the details of the incident, in which she said that while she was carrying out emergency and reception work at the hospital, she brought the ambulance with an accident, and the necessary was done. Doctor Aya Shaaban added that one of the injured needed to be referred to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and that this specialty does not exist in Abu Kabir Hospital, and accordingly the doctor requested an ambulance to transfer the injured to Zagazig University Hospital, but a paramedic The ambulance refused to transport the injured without the escort of a doctor, and the abused doctor added that the injured person who requested to be transferred to the university hospital was in stable condition and in full awareness and did not need to accompany a doctor during transporting him by ambulance, and because she is the only doctor in the reception and emergency department, she was unable to respond to the request Paramedic escorting the injured
The doctor stated that she was surprised at the time that the victim’s family beat and insulted her and inflicted bodily injuries on her. A report was issued regarding the incident at Abu Kabir Police Department, numbered 4566 misdemeanours.
Hussein added that the doctor, Aya Shaaban Al-Aseeli, contacted the General Syndicate of Physicians today, Wednesday, and reported that the Public Prosecution notified her to attend tomorrow morning, Thursday, March 17, to complete her statements.
For his part, Dr. Ayman Salem, Secretary-General of the Medical Syndicate, announced that he assigned the lawyer of the General Syndicate of Physicians to attend with the assaulted doctor before the Public Prosecution and prove the intervention of the Medical Syndicate to preserve the doctor’s rights. Dr. Ayman Salem added that he contacted Dr. Khaled Safwat, head of the Eastern Syndicate and Which confirmed the follow-up of the Eastern Physicians Syndicate to the incident and its communication with the doctor and its support for her, as confirmed by Dr. Khaled Safwat, head of the Eastern Doctors Syndicate, to attend with the doctor in the Public Prosecution Office.
