This Saturday the Ministry of Health of Nayarit disclosed that the first person with the coinfection has been detected “Flurona”, in the state. This would be the first case of a combination of COVID with a flu virus in Mexico.
The foregoing was announced by the Secretary of Health of Nayarit, José Francisco Munguía, who assured that the health measures of this entity are kept on “maximum alert” to prevent any contagion and understand how the pandemic unfolds in cases like this.

“As I have told you, it is part of this whole process. That is why we are permanently on high alert (in the state) to see the behaviors that this pandemic”, assured the Secretary of Health.
Thus, he detailed that the first case of Flurona in Mexico, it was detected in a 28-year-old woman from Tepic: “We have the first case of coinfection, known as flurone, a combination of COVD-19 and influenza, in a 28-year-old female from the city of Tepic” .

As soon as this case was detected, the woman was isolated and medical treatment was started to attend to the coinfection. In addition to this, the Secretary of Health of the entity indicated that there was a record of a case of omicron, which is also being cared for.
In the first eight days of the year, 1 thousand 202 infections have been accumulated in the entity, while, in Tepic, 247 cases of COVID have been confirmed, for this reason the authorities have reinforced the sanitary measures.
Therefore, on January 6 they announced that bars, canteens, casinos, discotheques and nightclubs should operate at 50 percent of its capacity; in addition to taking care of the healthy distance and closing at 12 at night.

In addition to this, the state of Nayarit suspended the face-to-face classes for two weeks at all educational levels to prevent infections in the entity from continuing to increase due to the omicron variant, which has been detected as the most contagious.
