A new forest fire put Córdoba on alert. It began in the region of the wall of the San Roque Dam and four fire brigades worked there. In the task of extinguishing the flames, they had the collaboration of a fire hydrant plane and members of the Technical Team for Action against Catastrophes (ETAC).

The events occurred around noon on Sunday near the Molet Plant, located on Route E-55, between San Roque and La Calera.

From the Secretariat of Risk Management they indicated that the flames managed to be contained, after 5:30 p.m. “The fire in the La Calera area is contained, with an unstable perimeter, so cooling tasks are being carried out,” they confirmed in a statement.

Previously, the head of the Provincial Fire Management Plan had indicated to Chain 3: “He has taken a slope. There were three different sources that the firefighters could appreciate. Automatically three endowments arrived, seven Etac endowments and one plane. Soon a second aircraft will be added, which will work from Lake San Roque”.

The town of Colón in the province of Córdoba is the only one in the country that registered an active forest fire, the National Fire Management Service (SNMF) reported this Sunday. According to the agency under the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, the sources of fires in the towns of Capital and Andalgalá in Catamarca were contained; from Ledesma in Jujuy; and from Punilla in Córdoba.

The fires in the town of Punilla (Cerro Uritorco) in Córdoba and Victoria in Entre Ríos were also controlled, in which an observer plane belonging to the SNMF operated.

In addition, forest fires were extinguished in the San Martín and Pueyrredón area in San Luis, Valle Viejo in Catamarca, and San Pedro and Doctor Manuel Belgrano in Jujuy.
