The fire that broke out on Sunday followingnoon in the area of Poseidonia is under control.
In order to extinguish the front, strong ground and air forces of the Fire Brigade and the police were immediately mobilized as there are vacation homes scattered in the wider area.

Specifically, 92 firefighters with 25 vehicles, 6 helicopters, 2 aircraft and five pedestrian units were mobilized. The work of the fire brigades was assisted by water carriers of the OTAs, while a water vehicle of the Fire Brigade also arrived in the area.
For the fire he rang twice 112. The first informed the citizens regarding its event of fire and the second he called them to move away from the region of Poseidonia towards Anabyssos.
Shortly before 6 pm on Sunday, the fire brigade managed to bring it under control, however their efforts continued for the small outbreaks as well as dealing with the flare-ups.
A bather in the area of Souni reported to protothema.gr that “the fire was immediately noticed by the bathers from the smell, small pieces of ash arrived with the wind and the beach was quickly evacuated. However, people did not seem panicked and left the beach quickly. The fire brigade acted very quickly. Residents of the area had taken to the street, while some had even started watering their yards for precautionary reasons.”

Kikilias: The fire in Lavrio was dealt with in 30 minutes – It might have disastrous consequences
According to protothema, the fire that broke out in a forest area in Lavrio was dealt with in 30 minutes, as stated in a statement by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias. Mr. Kikilias emphasizes, among other things, that “the evacuations took place immediately and safely” and adds that “if it was not dealt with so quickly and in time, it might have disastrous consequences.”
Here is Mr. Kikilia’s full statement:
“The fire in Lavrio broke out in a forest area, next to camps, houses and a beach full of bathers. If not dealt with so quickly and timely it might have disastrous consequences. The evacuations took place immediately and safely. In 30 minutes our firefighters, civil protection forces and 6 aerial vehicles were able to successfully deal with it before it threatened lives and property.”
