The paid video service KlikFilm presents the latest Indonesian film entitled Demi the Heart, which is based on the true story of a dialysis patient in the book Souls with Machines, Memoirs of Dialysis Patients.

In a press statement, quoted on Thursday (18/4), the film Demi Si Buah Hati tells the story of a married couple named Dona (Yuki Kato) and Yuda (Dion Wiyoko). Both of them live happily in marriage with Haryati (Yurike Prastika), Yuda’s mother.

One day, Dona fainted and was taken to hospital. From there, Dona was diagnosed with kidney failure by a doctor because of her unhealthy diet since childhood.

Therefore, the doctor required Dona to undergo dialysis because her kidneys were no longer functioning properly. However, Dona doesn’t want to depend on dialysis treatment forever, so she prefers to use the alternative treatment of acupuncture.

Not long ago, Dona was declared pregnant and this good news apparently had an impact on her kidney condition.

Fate said otherwise, the doctor required Dona to abort her pregnancy or she would lose her life if she defended him.

Dona also rejected this suggestion and wanted to maintain her pregnancy. This sparked a commotion in their household because Yudi considered the wife to be selfish without thinking regarding her husband.
