In a scientific journal published in the Clinical Kidney Journal recently, Bruce Lee allegedly died of brain swelling due to hyponatremia. This is a condition when the concentration of sodium in the blood is so low because the water level in the body increases so that the cells experience swelling.
“In other words, we suspect that it was the inability of the kidneys to cope with the excess water that killed Bruce Lee,” they wrote.
There are several factors mentioned in the journal related to the behavior of the actor and his habits which are one of the supporters of this hypothesis. One of them is the diet he does where he consumes more juice and protein drinks. This is exacerbated by the use of marijuana which increases thirst.
“We hypothesized that Bruce Lee died due to a specific condition of his kidney dysfunction, namely the inability to excrete sufficient water to maintain homeostasis,” the authors wrote.
