FIFA versus PES will soon be a thing of the past. After the renaming of the Konami franchise (which was renamed eFootball), it is now the FIFA franchise of Electronic Arts which will adopt a new name.
Goodbye, FIFA
A name change has been rumored for a few months, and it is now almost confirmed: EA Sports will soon offer a game called “EA Sports Football Club.”
According to journalist Jeff Grubb, “EA Sports FC” will allow the publisher to move away from the “Fédération Internationale de Football Association”, after many disagreements. Last February, we learned in particular that according to Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, FIFA is “just four letters on the game cover.”
