This car is one of a kind: it is the last of four coupes to feature Pininfarina’s Superamerica-style bodywork, and one of three produced without fender vents. Despite its charm, this automotive gem requires extensive and time-consuming restoration.

This car was born in May 1956 with the chassis number 0469 GT. It is distinguished by its two-tone Celeste bodywork topped with a Nero roof, all dressed in Naturale leather from Connolly. The first to sit behind the wheel of this exceptional vehicle was King Mohammed V, a connoisseur of luxury and automotive performance.

The history of this vehicle still conceals some mysteries. It is uncertain whether King Mohammed V was the sole owner of this Ferrari 250 GT Coupé Spéciale. But the presence of a vintage Moroccan license plate attests to a link with the kingdom.

In the early 1960s, this racing car crossed the Atlantic to reach the United States. In 1962 the car was registered in the name of Ben Pace, Florida. The latter sold it twelve years later to Walter Medlin who, for half a century, owned it. Unfortunately, the car has not been pampered as it deserves: traces of rust are visible on certain parts of its bodywork. The date of August 17 will mark a new beginning for this Ferrari which, despite its need for restoration, will undoubtedly attract many enthusiasts at the auction in Monterey, California.
