On July 1, 2024, an accident occurred with a Mirage 2000-5 fighter of the 114th Fighter Wing at Tanagra.
The young pilot, when she realized the problem, calmly followed protocol and activated the ejection seat, which worked normally.
The incident occurred at 13:50 as the Mirage with the trainee pilot was returning to Tanagra after an exercise with other aircraft in the Aegean.
How the Mirage accident happened at Tanagra
While the aircraft had landed and was taxiing on the runway, the pilot realized there was a problem, recording an incident of uneven braking. One of the two brakes was apparently not working as intended, and fortunately the pilot, reacting with composure, proceeded with the intended actions, making use of the ejection seat.
With information from iefimerida, the young pilot of the fighter has been taken to the hospital as a precaution, in order to undergo the tests provided for every time the ejection seat is used.
According to the ERT channel, the aircraft is located to the right of the runway in Tanagra, in an area with dirt and has not suffered any particular damage.
