Public works suffer from a lack of manpower. Their Federation is touring seaside resorts this summer to promote its trades and recruit.
After Boulogne-sur-Mer, Gravelines, Mers-les-Bains and Stella Plage, the container of the Hauts-de-France Public Works Federation has moved to Sainte-Cécile on the esplanade. It was an opportunity to present the professions with two robots: one for handling a crane and the other for driving a dump truck.
« We want to promote public works to the general public “, explains Ms. Lelièvre of the Federation. The meetings are enriching for young people, but also for people in the business who want to drive machines.
Attractive salaries!
According to Ms. Lelièvre, 3,000 jobs are available for the 400 companies present in the region. Retirements need to be replaced. Companies also have a large need for labor to build the Seine-North-Europe canal. Salaries are attractive, mutual insurance offers good coverage and certain advantages.
Outside the summer period, the Federation participates in trade forums for job seekers and RSA beneficiaries. It also works with training organizations or schools that provide training for public works jobs.
