Member of the Federation Council, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Upper House of Parliament Vladimir Dzhabarov called the decision of the Seimas of Lithuania to recognize Russia as a “terrorist state” a manifestation of schizophrenia.
The senator recalled the efforts of the Russian Federation to successfully combat international terrorism in Syria and the North Caucasus. He also wondered regarding the side that the West took in this struggle.
“Here are the terrorists, most likely, these are your predecessors,” Dzhabarov pointed out. According to him, the Russian Foreign Ministry should evaluate this decision. Subsequently, “some decision on this issue” will be made, the radio station’s website reports. “Moscow Speaks”.
In a conversation with RIA Novosti, Dzhabarov stressed that Lithuania’s actions would lead to a rupture of economic ties with Russia.
Earlier, members of the Seimas (Parliament) of Lithuania unanimously voted to recognize Russia as a terrorist state due to a special operation on the territory of Ukraine.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the Russian Federation would recognize the independence of the DNR and LNR. Then an agreement on friendship and cooperation was signed between the parties. After that, the republics of Donbass turned to Moscow with a request for help, and on February 24, the Russian Federation launched a special operation to demilitarize Ukraine.
