The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said, “The continuation of the Israeli siege for about 16 years, and the wars and military operations that followed, deprived the Gaza Strip patients of their treatment rights and caused a shortage of 40 percent of essential medicines, 32 percent of medical consumables, and 60 percent of laboratory and bank supplies. the blood”.

The ministry said during a press conference during an event organized by it entitled “Save Gaza’s Patients” that an increasing number of patients referred for treatment in Israel “are being harassed and investigated by Israeli security without taking into account their severe health conditions.”

The ministry revealed that the Israeli side “is still placing obstacles to prevent the entry of 21 x-ray devices into hospitals in the Gaza Strip, and also preventing the entry of spare parts needed to repair 87 broken medical devices in hospitals, including 12 x-ray machines.”

The Ministry of Health indicated that patients with cancer and heart diseases face a severe fate due to the delay in issuing exit permits by Israel, which extends for many months, due to which several patients have died since the beginning of this year, according to the Ministry.
