The family of the Girona Literary Awards is expanding with the award Aurora Bertranawhich recognizes the Catalan translation of literary work already published. The president of the Prudenci Bertrana Foundation, Mariàngela Vilallonga, emphasizes that it was “fair and necessary” that the first of the awards honored by a writer be dedicated, precisely, to her. “As a tribute to a powerful writer, ahead of her time and also one of the mainstays of the Literary Awards,” she stressed, recalling that she was part of the first juries. More than 700 works are eligible for the prize.
Aurora Bertrana has a staff of 6.000 euros and equates Ramon Muntaner with juvenile literature, Carles Rahola with essays and Miquel de Palol with Poetry (which in 2022 will increase its staff).
