The security services in Aswan arrested the accused, Mostafa Al-Bank, known as “Aswan Rest House”, following seizing nearly two billion pounds.

Lawyer Mustafa Othman says that the accusation awaiting the accused is defrauding citizens in accordance with Article 336 of the Penal Code, and following investigations are completed, he is referred to the Misdemeanors Court.
Osman added to Masrawy that the penalty for the accused in each case is imprisonment from 24 hours to 3 years, and in the case of multiple reports, if the crime is proven, the maximum penalty is 3 years.
Article 336 of Penalties states that “Whoever manages to seize money, offers, debt bonds, clearance bonds, or any movable possessions by fraud to steal all or some of the wealth of others, either by using fraudulent methods that lead to misleading people of the existence of a false project or a fact, shall be punished by imprisonment. fraudulent or creating the hope of obtaining an imaginary profit, or repaying the amount taken fraudulently.
How do the victims of “Aswan Rest House” recover their money?
Lawyer Mustafa Othman indicates that the victims’ lawyer will file a civil claim for temporary civil compensation before the Misdemeanour Court, and following a final judgment is issued once morest the accused, the victims file a compensation claim before the Civil Court.
As for the implementation of the compensation ruling, Othman clarified that following the verdict of the victims for financial compensation, they demand implementation, and in the event the accused abstains, they demand a seizure of his money and property.
