Available since summer 2020, Fall Guys was the little touch of freshness that was immediately a huge success. The idea is simple, but terribly effective. The Mediatonic developers were inspired by famous Japanese games like Takeshi: Storming the Castle (but also its variants like Wipeout or Ninja Warrior) to offer a real Battle Royale in several rounds where the goal is to be the last alive to win the crown!
Available only on PC and PS4, the game was just announced a few days ago on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Better yet, the title will arrive next month in free-to-play, to be accessible for free on all media!
Fall Guys, free for all from June 21!
Whether on PS4, but also on PC or on new platforms such as PS5, Switch and Xbox (Series X/S, and One), Fall Guys will be free from June 21. You will no longer have any excuse not to try this phenomenon! In addition, it is on this date that cross-play will also be launched so that you can play with your friends regardless of the console you have. Fall Guys will also adopt cross-progression, allowing you to keep your stats and items on other mediums.
Starting June 21, the game will also be coming to the Epic Games Store and leaving Steam. But don’t panic, thanks to cross-progression and free-to-play, PC gamers won’t lose their progress or have to pay a single penny to keep up to date.
Benefits for former players?
Fall Guys has been available since August 2020 for €19.99. Players who have been there since the beginning and have paid this amount will be entitled to advantages with the Legacy pack which will contain cosmetic elements for their character and their profile. Players will therefore be able to benefit from the following items:
- a nickname
- an identity plate
- the regal costume
- the veggie hot dog costume
- the dwarf costume
- a subscription for season 1
New things to come?
With the release of Fall Guys in free-to-play version and on new platforms, the game will offer new skins, new cards. But the studio behind Fall Guys has also announced that it’s already working on a map editor so players can create their own levels to share online.
