The Faculty of Medicine of the Unne, an example for the National University of Mar del Plata

Authorities from the National University of Mar del Plata visited Corrientes to see first-hand the academic developments of the Unne School of Medicine.

“We are here because of the relevance of this place. We came to learn and we took away a lot of experience”.

This was stated by the dean of the Superior School of Medicine of the National University of Mar del Plata, Dr. Adrián Alasino, who, accompanied by the vice-dean of the same institution, Dr. Gabriel Angelini, visited the Unne School of Medicine.

The meeting was scheduled to observe step by step the development of the Structured Objective Clinical Examination (Ecoe), which is being carried out in the Clinical Simulation Cabinet.

The academic authorities were received by the dean of the House of Studies, Professor Gerardo Omar Larroza, the coordinator Professor Alejandro Gorodner and the team that makes up the Simulation Cabinet.

The professionals stated that the idea is to soon implement this pedagogical model in the Higher School of Medicine they represent, with the first promotion of doctors graduating this year 2022, taking into account that it is a new institution, which opened its doors in 2017.

“We are carrying out this visit that has been coordinated with the dean Omar Larroza, because in our medical school we do not have graduates, this year for the first time around 107 students are entering the last year of medicine who are doing the obligatory final practice and they are going to need to do the Ecoe, the test they do here,” said Dr. Alasino. He added that the idea of ​​coming to this well-known place, referring to the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of the Northeast, is to learn, meet the teams, observe how they work and bring those experiences.

“We have come a little to learn, to look because at the end of this year we are going to find ourselves in the situation of having to start doing the same thing, with final skills exams for students. There is nothing better than talking to all the teams,” she expressed.

For his part, the vice-dean, Dr. Angelini, congratulated the local authorities for their progress, defining the Faculty as a building with an imposing structure designed and perfectly designed for the needs of the Faculty of Medicine, surely molded according to the knowledge already the team experience.

The Structured Objective Clinical Examination (Ecoe) is designed to evaluate the performance of students in the last year of their career (6th year of Medicine), to obtain the title, in specific clinical situations, where their theoretical knowledge, reasoning clinical, skills and abilities, as well as their attitude and interpersonal communication skills.
