The face that Babar Azam sees in his nightmares will now be his
The second Test of Pakistan’s Sri Lanka series ended last day. Sri Lanka won the match following repeating the authentic victory achieved in the first Test and beating Pakistan to win the series.
Pakistan lost by 246 runs. Chasing a target of 508 runs, the visitors were bowled out for 261 runs.
This tour has been bad for Pakistan skipper Babar Azam. Even though he repeated his natural performance in batting, his poor performance in fielding led to a lot of criticism.
In addition to all this, the Pakistan captain has become the bunny of Sri Lankan super-spinner Prabhat Jayasuriya in a sense. Prabhat dismissed Babar three times in four innings in the two Tests.
In the first innings of the first Test, it was Prabhat who returned Babar the other three times, except when he was caught in front of the wicket by Mahesh Thikshana.
In the second innings of the first Test, Prabhat clean bowled Babar with a mystery delivery. Unable to understand what had happened, Babar did not know that it was the calm before the storm.
If Babar’s one-man struggle to score a century in the first innings helped Pakistan, Jayasuriya returned the player in the second innings without allowing it.
Prabhat Jayasurya shocked Babar in the first innings of the second Test. When Babar fell once once more in the mind games of the last match, the player managed to score only 16 runs. Prabhat returned the Pak skipper with a clean bowl.
When Babar woke up in the second innings to overcome the fatigue of giving up the lead in the first innings, it was Jayasuriya who became the villain there as well. Prabhat trapped the resisting Babar in front of the wicket and once once more returned the Pakistan captain to the pavilion.
Prabhat took five wickets including Babar’s in the second innings. He took 17 wickets from the four innings of the series. With this, Prabhat became the star of the series.
