The cold wave is back across Quebec bringing in its wake abysmal temperatures of -30 degrees for Friday and Saturday.
An extreme cold warning issued by Environment Canada is in effect for most of the province, which will be affected by extreme cold as of Thursday, with a wind chill of -40 degrees, in the northern and western sectors.
In Montreal and its surroundings, the mercury will drop slowly from next night to stay at -32 degrees to rise slightly to -25 degrees for Friday and Saturday.
The Outaouais, Estrie, Beauce, Quebec and Mauricie sectors will also experience freezing temperatures causing a wind chill of -38 degrees in places.
The sun will be present almost everywhere during these three days of extreme cold, before temperatures approach seasonal norms as of Sunday followingnoon, according to forecasts from the federal agency.
