The extension law that encourages tourism reactivation goes to the Executive for its promulgation

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Senate approved on Wednesday the bill to extend the tourism reactivation for three additional years, and it is now being passed to the Executive Branch for its promulgation. The efforts for its approval were promoted by the National Tourism Secretariat and the National Directorate of Migration, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This is Law No. 6790/2024, which extends the validity of temporary measures to encourage the reactivation of tourism for three additional years; and eliminates the visa requirement for citizens of the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

This applies as long as they enter the country for tourism purposes, and their stay does not exceed 90 days, explained the Minister of Tourism, Angie Duarte.

The State Secretariat expressed its satisfaction with this decision of the Upper House, as it encourages the reactivation of tourism and the opening of Paraguay to the world.

“Senatur will continue to work on considering actions leading to the strengthening of tourism as one of the strategic and essential pillars of the development and sustainable growth of our country,” said the minister.

This bill has already been partially approved by the Chamber of Deputies and now goes to the Presidency of the Republic for the corresponding promulgation.
