Equality for all
Since its creation in 2017, the Videogame Extension has worked for the well-being of members of this industry. This takes the form of monthly panels, as well as workshops around recurring themes or problems that workers in the video game industry may encounter. Such as the choice of specialization, communication and growth in business, or the prevention of burnout.
In order to mark their return and to represent its values, the Extension will participate in the Montreal Gay Pride parade, with a banner and 300 members who will be present during the procession:
In 2019, approximately 200 members took part in the event. This comeback this year, which is very important to us, reflects a desire and a strong message of inclusion that we must establish in the field of video games in Quebec. In addition, our presence is in perfect symbiosis with the mission of our group, which is to help people enter, integrate, and then flourish in the industry.” Guillaume Leroy
In order to finance his procession, the’Extension has organized in recent weeks a vast collection having raised over 10,000 $ from of regarding fifteen donors. During the parade, the procession will stroll to the sound of music from its vehicle, and will carry an agnostic banner representing workers in the video game industry.
Our industry has started a real change regarding diversity and inclusion. Through this march, we want to demonstrate that regardless of the size or type of studio, the role or the title of the employee, we are in solidarity with a new era in our environment.” Guillaume Leroy
