Therapist Tatiana Romanenko claims that an insufficient amount of fluid will lead to headaches, weakness and lethargy.
– Lack of water can affect the state of the whole organism. A person will feel bad, feel unwell, weakness, lethargy, headache, – says the expert.
In addition, older people will feel these symptoms more acutely.
“In the elderly, due to their age, the presence of chronic diseases, protein deficiency, metabolic disorders, a decrease in the activity of the immune system, all these consequences will be more pronounced, that is, they will quickly feel this lack of fluid,” she explained. Romanenko.
At a young age, with a lack of vitamins, the body is rebuilt. This does not happen in the elderly. The vessels are no longer so elastic, thus, there is no redistribution of blood, that is, the brain quickly suffers.
To improve blood flow and strengthen blood vessels, apples, citrus fruits and sauerkraut are perfect. They contain vitamin C and vitamin-like substances like rutin and quercetin. Berries will also be useful: raspberries, blackberries, strawberries. They contain natural salicylates that prevent thrombosis.
But in addition to proper nutrition, it is necessary to maintain water balance. It is recommended to drink 20-30 ml of water per 1 kg of body weight. But it is also individual. For example, in the hot season, you need to increase the amount of fluid you drink.
