This is one of the major projects left fallow following Macron’s first five-year term. While the issue of pensions is mobilizing political attention, the government is trying in small steps to relaunch the reform of the state in parallel. A new envelope of 330 million euros for the period 2023-2025 was thus unveiled this Friday, which should make it possible to finance actions to transform the functioning of administrations.
“We are no longer in the era of ‘new public management’, which consisted of wanting to outsource everything. There needs to be a return to public action to address all the major transitions, but this must be done with an obsession for the most concrete impact for the citizen”, promised Stanislas Guerini, Minister of Transformation and public service.
