Marcelito Olguín, nicknamed the “Kamikaze of Ñuble”, is barely 6 years old, but he has already accumulated several competitions, standing on the podium in the 90cc children’s ATV category, which encourages pilots from 7 to 12 years old.

Recently, he was the exclusive kid from the region and from Chile, who accelerated on his ATV, in the massive Fim Sand Races World Cup 29 TH Edition Enduro race of the summer, held in Villa Gesell del Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He got on the podium

He started in 13th place and finished in third place, to get on the podium, where he usually raises his arms in Chile in first place.

“I am very happy to run my first world championship at the age of 6 in front of many people. “Now I understand why it is the biggest race in the world,” La Discusión commented at the outset, “Marcelito,” who accelerates flat out regardless of the difficulties of the circuit.

“Next year we will look for first place once more, but now I must continue training thoroughly and without fear to obtain the two-time championship in the ATV Chile Rally. Now in March my goal is to be among the first three places in the CNCC National Championship that will begin in the city of Villarrica and hopefully improve the second place that I obtained in the Riders Chile challenge in the month of April,” explained the “Kamikaze de Ñuble”, who despite his young age, but unsuspected talent, has great projection.

“I thank MDR because it supports me in everything and also to La Discusión y Dimensión Deportiva that has made my career known and now as the only driver who went to compete in the World Championship,” concluded the enthusiastic and disciplined driver of the category. ATV Infantil, who expects support from private companies to finance their next competitive challenges at a national and international level.

It should be noted that the great promise of Team ATR Quads, which dreams of racing at a world level and the Dakar, roared a few weeks ago in the largest race in Chile: The ATV-Enduro MXe Big Trail, which brought together more than 30 categories in competition , in Pelluhue.

Olguín won first place in the children’s ATV category, enduro and rally mode, up to 10 years old, with a time of 16:45.310, following seven laps of the sandy circuit. Further back were Máximo Jara, Bastián Manzano and Tomás Sáez.

Last year he was the national champion in the ATV Chile children’s rally series, a crown he hopes to retain in the 2024 season
