Playdigious will soon publish a mobile version of the excellent beat ’em all Streets of Rage 4.
Developed by a small team of retrogaming enthusiasts, Streets of Rage 4 is without a doubt one of the most successful revivals of an old franchise. Released on consoles, the title was a huge success, to the point of being crowned by several media as the best indie game of the year. It will soon land on mobiles thanks to the publisher Playdigious, which has just announced its release on iPhone and Android, on May 24.
The game is presented as an old-school 2D beat them all, in the purest tradition of Final Fight and other Golden Axes. It is the direct sequel to the excellent Streets of Rage 3. Unlike this one, however, it was not developed internally at Sega but by a small French studio.
The mobile version will integrate 12 levels, an arcade mode, a story mode and a training mode. Players will be able to embody 13 different characters.
The game should be sold for just under €10 on the App Store. Unfortunately, it will not be integrated into the Apple Arcade catalog.
