Those who attended the evening of October 28 at the Alekos Megaris Cultural Center had the opportunity to enjoy a magical evening. The anniversary day of “NO” ended with a special concert of classical and lyrical music.
A collaboration of the Municipality of Aegialia with the “Golfo” Festival and the “Hellenic Idyllion”.
The evening opened with the Children-Youth Choir and the Mixed Choir of Aegialia under the guidance of the conductor and musician Mrs. Bessys Nassi and continued with piano music by the distinguished German pianist Wolfgang Kraemer, accompanied by the lyrical singers, the Croatian soprano Kristina Sop and the Austrian Mezzo-Soprano Ingrid Zaharias.
Songs by Manos Loizos, Mikis Theodorakis, poetry set to music by Nikiforos Vrettakos and Odysseus Elytis were heard, while in the foreign repertoire the audience had the opportunity to enjoy works by Schumann, Dvorak, Manuel de Falla, Debussy, Ravel, Offenbach.
The highlight of the evening was when the sopranos sang together with the audience the song by Mikis Theodorakis “O Kaimos”.
A greeting on behalf of the Mayor was addressed by the Deputy Mayor for Quality of Life, Mr. Giorgos Fragkonikolopoulos, and thanks to the participants and partners of the event, by the Deputy Mayor for Etiquette and Communication, Mrs. Maria Angelopoulou. The event was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Prasinos, Mr. Nikos Karaiskos, the Deputy Mayor of the Legal Service, Mrs. Maria Iatropoulou, the Councilor for Tourism Development, Mr. Christos Kanellis, the President of the Aigio Community, Mr. Fanis Rabavilas, and the Councilor of the Community, Mrs. Eleftheria Marnelis.
