The European Union is waving sanctions against countries and organizations that support Russia

Baghdad / Obelisk: European Union Foreign Affairs Commissioner Peter Stano said, on Thursday 12/01/2023, that the Union is ready to impose sanctions on people and organizations that support Russia in various countries.

Stano stated that the European Union will not, at the present time, disclose its specific steps in this field.

He added: We will continue to impose sanctions as well once morest those who help Russia and provide support for its illegal steps.

The European representative stressed that the talk is not only regarding Belarus, but also regarding Iran.

He noted that sanctions will be imposed, when necessary, once morest individuals, organizations and institutions from other countries as well.

Stano did not specify whether there are specific European plans to impose new sanctions on Belarus.

He said: All these details are of a confidential nature, and stressed that new restrictive measures will become possible, in the event of a joint decision of the European Union member states.

Earlier, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, promised to impose new sanctions on Belarus over its role in the conflict in Ukraine.

Before that, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that his country does not intend to be drawn into the hostilities taking place on the territory of Ukraine, especially since Russia does not ask it to do so.
