The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denis Anatolyevich Shmykal, said that the European Union had agreed to his country’s accession.
On Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed his country’s application to join the European Union.
Zelensky announced that he had signed an official application for Ukraine to join the European Union.
Zelensky added that he had asked the union to allow Ukraine to accept it as a member of the union immediately as part of a special procedure, after the Russian invasion of its territory.
Ukraine is subject to a Russian invasion targeting major cities in an attempt to dissuade Ukraine from expanding NATO and facilitating its progress east.
