In its latest study, the European Football Observatory (CIES) considers Erling Haaland as the player with the highest market value in Europe ahead of Vinicius. Kylian Mbappé shares third place with three rising stars.
Kylian Mbappé (24) already overtaken by a horde of rising stars at the highest market value game. This is the conclusion of the last letter of the European Football Observatory (CIES) which determined who was the most expensive player of each of the 1,224 clubs from 74 leagues analyzed. The study took into account age, performance but also the contractual situation. Erling Haaland (22) thus occupies the top of the ranking with an estimated value of 200 million euros, due to his long lease with Manchester City (until 2027). The Norwegian shares the lead with Vinicius (22) estimated to be Real Madrid’s most expensive player (until 2024).
Mbappé first if he had a three-year contract
Jude Bellingham is the Borussia Dortmund player with the highest value (3rd, 150 million euros, 19 years old, linked until 2025 with Dortmund), Pedri that of Barça (4th, 150 million euros, 20 years old, under contract until 2026) and Jamal Musiala that of Bayern (5th, 150 million euros, 20 years, until 2026). Kylian Mbappé is also worth 150 million euros. A rather “low” amount for the French international because of the contract which only binds him for one season with PSG (with an optional year at the player’s discretion).
Among other European cadors, Gabriel Martinelli is the most expensive player of Arsenal (100 million euros), Josko Gvardiol of Leipzig (100), Darwin Nunez of Liverpool (80), Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea (80), Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan (80), Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United (80) or Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus (60). Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is presented as the Napoli player with the highest value (60) ahead of Victor Osimhen, whom the club does not want to sell for less than 150 million euros.
CIES ran a simulation imagining that all players had at least three years of contract with their club. In this game, Kylian Mbappé recovers the lead by being valued at 250 million euros, like Vinicius but ahead of Erling Haaland (200), Jude Bellingham (200) and Bukayo Saka (150, Arsenal).
