The Epic Games Store now has the ability to filter the game library

The Epic Games Store has been slower than many expected. Features for the Epic PC play store have been slow to evolve, although Epic has consistently implemented them over time. Epic no longer attaches great importance to the release of each new feature, but users of the Epic Games Store will no doubt be interested in learning regarding each subsequent update. The latest update has arrived, introducing another major feature to the Epic Games Store – game library filters.

It may seem ridiculous that the Epic Games Store had little to no way of sorting game libraries up to this point, but it’s true. Epic users might sort their complete game libraries either alphabetically or by age. The new update to the Epic Games Store makes things a lot better. The “Filters” section has been added to the Game Library, providing Epic Games Store users with many important options for sorting through the growing list of games.

Filter options include Genre, Features, Types, and Platform submenus. Each submenu has as many options as it makes sense for that category. For example, the Genre menu contains regarding 30 different options to choose from, from card games to survival. Other menus can help Epic Games Store users find co-op games, VR games, game editors, or Mac games.

While filters may not be an experience-changing feature, the importance of this feature cannot be underestimated. Many Epic Games Store users already have dozens, if not hundreds of games, simply thanks to Epic’s free offerings. It’s easy to imagine forgetting the name of a game and looking for it in a library of hundreds of titles. This may be enough to turn someone once morest Epic in an instant.

Filtering in users’ game libraries is not just an important feature, it’s a necessary feature. It’s almost silly that it hasn’t been available until now, but Epic is in no hurry. After all, the Epic Game Store must work flawlessly for millions of users around the world. This won’t make users less upset regarding the pace of game releases, but that’s the truth of the situation.

Epic continues to move forward with several additional features planned for release in the relatively near future. User profiles are arguably the biggest upcoming addition, but other features, including game ratings, polls, and a notification system, are also listed in the “Up Next” list. The features may be slow to roll out, but Epic Games Store users can rest assured that they will eventually arrive.
