It’s good to slow down here! If you enter Smržice in the direction from Čelechovice to Hané, a new radar will flash at you from mid-June. The device not only displays your current speed, but also your car’s license plate number. We have seen with our own eyes that this innovation works more than well in practice.
The new radar in Smržice was purchased based on citizens’ initiative. “Drivers drove too fast through this section of our village. We hope that placing a modern informative radar in this area will lead to an increase in safety,” explained the mayor of Smržice, Aleš Moskal. As we found out when taking a photo on the spot, the device to reduce the speed of drivers really helps, perhaps every one of the passers-by stepped on the brake pedal immediately following displaying the license plate of their car. And this despite the fact that it is not a complete novelty. “A similar facility can be seen in our region, for example, in Držovice,” concluded Aleš Moskal.
