A fire broke out this followingnoon in a 40-story, 218-meter high-rise building in Changsha, Hunan Province, China.
The fire quickly spread throughout the building as if an explosive had gone off.
People inside the building evacuated in a hurry, but it is said that the exact situation of the damage is currently under investigation.

Red flames engulfed the entire building, and black smoke billowed into the sky.
It looks as if there were multiple explosions above and below the building at the same time.
Black smoke covered the sky.
With the sound of an explosion, burning building materials fall down.

“It’s exploding. My hands are shaking from fear.”
The fire occurred in the 42-story, 218-meter-high China Telecom building in Changsha, Hunan Province, in the heart of inland China.
The fire spread throughout the building in an instant, so it is presumed that the flammable material also exploded.

“When I first saw it, only the 5th and 6th floors were on fire, but now the whole building is burning.”
The fire broke out around 4 PM, but it was before work hours on a weekday, so there must have been a lot of people inside the building.
People inside the building’s offices were evacuated in a hurry.
“Let’s go, let’s go!”
On Chinese social media, people lined up to take the stairs to evacuate, and situations in which people run out of buildings are shared, raising concerns regarding human casualties.

Dozens of fire engines were dispatched to the scene, and the fire was extinguished in regarding an hour.
Chinese fire authorities believe the fire started on the exterior wall of the building and are currently figuring out the exact extent of the damage.
The building that caught fire was completed in 2000 and is the first high-rise building in Changsha to exceed 200 meters.
