Bethesda veteran – and creator of games like The Elder Scrools V: Skyrim, Fallout 4 and Starfield – Todd Howard was born in 1970. He’ll probably be close to 60 when The Elder Scrolls VI arrives, which means he’s not far from the usual retirement age. But will he leave the industry anytime soon? That’s exactly what GQ asked him in a recent interview, and Howard revealed he has no plans to retire. Quite the opposite actually, as he says he wants to do it forever: “It’s weird to me, but it’s a long, long way off. I want to do it forever. I think the way I work might Will change, but… look at Miyamoto. He’s still doing it. Mario’s dad Shigeru Miyamoto is 71 years old and still involved in Nintendo games, albeit not quite as hands-on anymore. Apart from Starfield, Howard is currently listed Executive producer for Amazon’s Fallout TV series and MachineGames’ upcoming Indiana Jones game. We already know he’s working on the next Elder Scrolls. Let’s keep our fingers crossed Howard stays in the video game industry for as long as possible, and He still has a lot of masterpieces to do.
