The battle for dominance of the console market is getting closer to coming to an end. Xbox, owned by Microsoft, made a series of announcements long awaited by the community and fans of digital entertainment a few days ago, in which it revealed that it will publish four of its exclusive games on the platform of its main rival, PlayStation 5: a milestone in the industry.

Three of the company’s top managers – Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond and Matt Booty – were in charge of communicating the news in an official Xbox podcast focused on the future of the business. An announcement that, on the other hand, responded to rumors that Xbox would stop having exclusive games.

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer brought peace of mind to Xbox fanboys: Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will not come to PlayStation 5. These games are developments from the publisher Bethesda, the same one that Microsoft bought in 2021.

During the last few weeks, sources related to the gaming world spread the rumor that several important video games developed by official Xbox studios, Microsoft’s gaming division, were going to be confirmed in the coming weeks on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. An unprecedented market movement that meant for many “the end of the console war.”

Even several specialized media in the gaming world, such as The Verge or Video Game Chronicles, assured that Microsoft was considering bringing its legendary Gears of War or Halo franchises to PlayStation in the future.
