The Emir of Qatar discusses with Mikati the latest developments in Lebanon

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, discussed, on Saturday, with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, developments on the Lebanese arena.

This took place during a meeting held between the two sides on the sidelines of the Doha Forum, according to a statement by the Qatari Emiri Diwan.

The two sides reviewed, according to the statement, “the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and ways to support and enhance them, in addition to discussing the most prominent developments on the Lebanese arena.”

They also exchanged views on a number of topics on the forum’s agenda.

In a related context, the Emir of Qatar held separate meetings with the US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, and Senator Lindsey Graham, according to the Amiri Diwan.

And earlier on Saturday, the work of the twentieth edition of the “Doha Forum” began and will last for two days.

This edition is held under the title “Transformation into a New Era”, with the participation of a group of heads of state and government, researchers, thinkers, and study and research centers.

The Doha Forum was established in 2000 as a global dialogue platform that brings together opinion leaders and policy makers around the world to propose innovative and viable solutions. It brings together policy makers, heads of government and states, representatives of the private sector, civil society, and non-governmental organizations.
