“Elles” is the collective directed by Henriette Planchon, which watches over the condition of women. It brings together several committed women who lead an incessant fight for the protection and rights of women. This year, a little ahead of the official date, the women’s circle is locally celebrating International Women’s Rights Day, which will take place on Saturday March 5.
From 10 a.m., departing from the Henri-Maurin theatre, the day will begin symbolically with a parade-demonstration in song accompanied by the choir of the Sans de Pézenas.
In the streets of Marseillan, women will stroll and sing to denounce the persistent violence. The arrival of the procession is scheduled around 11:15 a.m., in front of the statue of Marianne.
On the square, the women will take the floor to explain the course of the day, and also the reason for their fight. Throughout the day, exhibitions of paintings and sculptures (Cosmicocottes de Pézenas), drawings, readings of texts around the theme of inequalities, not to mention the presence of the Marseille bookstore Books and Dreams and the Zonta club of Béziers which fights once morest all forms of violence once morest women.
At the end of the day, a farce by Don Cristobal by Federico Garcia Lorca will be offered, and will end with the sounds of the Arpèges choir. One day will not be enough to address all the problems. In any case, it is thanks to these actions that women support and protect themselves and finally find their place in society.
